Taylor Swift’s personal trainer, Kirk Meyers, reveals her fitness secrets, emphasizing that her workout routine is tailored to train like a professional athlete, focusing on building strength, improving conditioning, and honing core muscles. Meyers highlights Taylor’s resilience and dedication to training, even during busy periods, showcasing her ability to push through challenging workouts and exercises, ultimately making her stronger, better, and faster.

Taylor Swift’s Workout Routine: A Peek Into Her Fitness Journey

Celebrity Taylor Swift is a constant presence on our screens, whether it’s because of her music, her love life, or hanging out with her squad. Since her debut in 2003, one thing’s for sure: she’s always in top form. Even though the singer hasn’t talked too much about her wellness and fitness routine, her trainer has given fans some juicy details as to what she does to stay fit. It’s no surprise that in order to perform for long hours at her concerts, she must train like a ‘professional athlete.’

The Trainer Behind the Scenes: Kirk Meyers

Kirk Meyers, founder of New York and L.A.’s Dogpound Gym, has been Taylor Swift’s trainer for almost a decade. Speaking to Vogue, Meyers says that her workout routine is “tailored.” He continues, “We approached her training for the Eras tour with the mindset like a professional athlete. There was an ‘off-season’ when she wasn’t touring and ‘in-season’ when she was. When she’s not touring, we’re in the gym up to six days a week for sometimes two hours a day.”

Training Like a Pro: Strength, Conditioning, and Resilience

Her training regimen zeroes in on building strength, improving conditioning, and honing her core muscles. These elements are crucial for supporting her during energetic performances like singing and dancing. However, it’s her resilience that truly fuels her ability to persevere through training, even during the busy in-season periods.

“Taylor trained during the entire tour. We would average two times a week. In-season training was more about maintenance, and so it was more like stability, mobility, and biomechanics. If you’ve seen the show, you know how intense it is physically. Imagine doing that three, four days in a row, and then you finally have a few off days and you’re still showing up to the gym. That’s Taylor,” he states.

The majority of her gym sessions were dedicated to strength and conditioning, while she took charge of her cardio workouts independently. A tip that he thinks can make a big difference is simply breathing during your workouts. “One thing that’s important to focus on when you’re working on your core strength is actually breathing. I know it’s outside the box, but fully breathing through workouts helps strengthen your core.”

Pushing Through Challenges: Making Taylor Stronger, Better, and Faster

Meyers continued to highlight how important it is to push through and used The Tortured Poets Department alum as a perfect example: “I give her a difficult exercise or challenging workout, not only is she able to complete and push through it—but she also perseveres, moving forward into the next exercise. This ultimately makes her stronger, better, and faster.”

Taylor Swift’s dedication to her fitness is evident in the way she approaches her workouts. By training like a professional athlete and focusing on building strength, resilience, and core stability, she’s able to perform at her best on stage. While she may not share all the details of her workout routine with the public, her commitment to her health and fitness is inspiring to fans around the world.
